Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation has held 11th Open Ukrainian championship among youth and juveniles in Lutsk. This year Volyn hosted 18 teams from 14 regions of Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomir, Zakarpattya, Zaporizhya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Rivne, Ternopil, Volyn and Kyiv city. There were also sportsmen from Belarus.
Judging was performed by a team of well-trained judges from all the country. General supervision of judges was maintained by Shihan Ivan Zvizdun (5thdan, from Dniprodzerzhinsk). Tatami referees were: sensei Dmytro Golovin (3rddan, Dnipropetrovsk), sensei Eugene Zapara (4th dan, Slovyansk), sempai Vadym Shumik (2nd dan, Lutsk) and sempai Viktor Balenko (2nd dan, Kyiv).
One must state high organization level of the competition, and high training level of the sportsmen. Fighters had to struggle among strong competitors in all the 20 weight/age categories. Each sportsman has shown combative spirit and strong desire will to be victorious, to show all his best.
