Kyiv Open Kyokusinkai Karate Championship was held on April 23rd, 2016. The tournament was organized by Kyiv city organization of Kyokusinkai Karate IFK. There were about 280 participants from different regions of Ukraine. One more tournament was held at one of the tatamis at the same time: Ukrainian qualifying tournament among adults for European KWU Championship.
Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation also participated in the competition. Our team consisted of 7 sportsmen and one judge – Gorishniy Vasyl. Young sportsmen have shown high training level and all of them were really eager to win. Three sportsmen from Volyn got to the 4thplace, but there our boys failed to overcome more experienced fighters to get to the final. Two girls from our team have got prize-winning places. Osokina Anastasia won 3rd place in 14-15 y.o. group (weight over 50 kg), and Kichka Anastasia from town Kovel won 2nd place.
One should state high organization level of the tournament. Although there were some delays at first, rest of the competition was performed very well.
