Two karate competitions were held at sports complex “Slobozhanskiy” (town Slobozhanske of Dnipropetrovsk region) on February 21st, 2021. Namely, they are Open IKO Matsushima kyokushinkaikan karate cup “DNIPRO CUP 2021” and Interclub beginners tournament “White tiger”.
320 young sportsmen (5-13 years old) participated in the competitions. They represented 17 teams from Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Sumy, Zaporizhya and Kyiv regions, and also cities Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhya, Bashtanka, Brovary, Romny, Novomoskovsk, Kamyanske, Melitopol and Slobozhanske.
Most weight categories counted 8-16 fighters, so the champions had to win 3 or even 4 fights.
Thanks to rather high training level of the sportsmen the fights were equal and intense. In spite of some judging mistakes general atmosphere of the competitions was very friendly.
