Volyn Region Championship among children and youth was held in Lutsk on October 21st, 2017. This year number of its participants has reached a record figure – 180 sportsmen from Lutsk, Kovel and Kivertsi district. The youngest participants were children from Lutsk kindergartens. The participants competed in 28 categories, and everyone strived for victory to get his first cup, the first medal and the first diploma, as the main aim of the championship was involvement of the highest possible number of beginners without experience. For those young sportsmen the competition has become the their first important step in life. Of course, the most spectacular fights were among those boys who had trained for a long time and had certain skills.
The tournament was organized by Volyn region organization of UKKF guided by Shihan Volynets Dmytro (5th dan). “Our main mission is to take children off from the streets, to foster love for sport, and to stir up a desire for self-realization in it”, Shihan said at the opening of the competition.
During the opening ceremony certificates and new belts were presented to sportsmen who have successfully passed their dan-tests this summer. A guest from Mukachevo Sergiy Matkovski was presented a certificate for the 2nd dan. Also, Shevchuk Vasyl joined the ranks of Senseis of Volyn region organization.
Overall atmosphere of the championship was very friendly. New champions were presented long-awaited prizes. Also, special award for the best skills was presented to Bezdenezhnyh Maksim from Lutsk and Kichka Anastasia from Kovel.
