6 fighters from Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation participated in VIII Matsushima Cup in Minsk, Republic Belarus on October 15th, 2016. Altogether there were more than 300 sportsmen from Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. Karate fighters competed in 33 categories and showed high training level.
Our sportsmen gained several prizes at the tournament. In weight category below 70 kg among men Goncharenko Yaroslav (2nd dan) got 2nd place. Kravets Roman and Agastrian Egish won 3rd place in their categories. Three other sportsmen have also showed good training level but failed to get to the semifinal in fights with more experienced Belorussian sportsmen. Our fighters got advice and support before fights from the trainers: sensei Dmytro Golovin (3rd dan, Dnipro), sempai Vasyl Shevchuk (2nd dan, Lutsk) and Gorishniy Vasyl (Kovel).
