Ukraine Open cup among children and youth (8-15 y.o.) was held in Brovary on December 9th, 2018. The competition hosted 249 sportsmen from 18 clubs, representing 8 regions of Ukraine. Main judge of the competition was international level judge Dmytro Volynets (5th dan, Lutsk). Head of the organizing committee – international level judge, head of the separate branch of Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation Andriy Gavryliuk (3rd dan, Brovary).
There were special guests at the competition’s opening: Deputy City Mayor of Brovary Grygoriy Golubovskiy, accompanied by the head of Brovary city council physical culture and sports department. The guests greeted the sportsmen and wished them to show good performance on the tatami. Also, at the opening ceremony Shihan Dmytro Volynets granted a black belt (1st dan) to Artem Gel’kin, who has successfully passed the corresponding test in summer.
Fights after the opening ceremony showed, that all the sportsmen had combative spirit and great desire to win. Overall results: 1st place – SC “Budokan” (town Brovary); 2nd place – SC “Sanchin” (town Irpin), 3rd place – SC “Katana” (town Lutsk).
