National Team Participated in Georgia International Championship

International IKO Matshushima kyokushinkaikan karate championship among youth and juniors was held in Tbilisi (Georgia) on June 24th, 2017. The competition hosted about 250 sportsmen from 6 countries: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Iran and Ukraine. Ukrainian team consisted of our Federation sportsmen and trainers from 4 regions:

Volyn region: Dovgai David and his trainer – chairman of the board, branch chief, Shihan Dmytro Volynets (5th dan);

Dnipropetrovsk region: Asatrian Yegish, Kravets Roman and their trainer Sempai Goncharenko Yaroslav (2nd dan);

Zakarpattia region: Boklah Victor and his trainer Sempai Mat’kovski Sergiy (1st dan);

Kyiv region: Rubal’skiy Vladislav, trainer Sensei Gavrylyuk Andriy (3rd dan).

Results of our sportsmen:

Asatrian Yegish (category 14-15 years old, below 50 kg) – unfortunately, he lost in an even fight to Iranian fighter because of weight!

Boklah Victor (14-15 y.o., below 50 kg) – he lost in an even fight to Georgian fighter by a judges’ decision, and his opponent became the champion.

Kravets Roman (10-11 y.o., below 35 kg) – won 1st place.

Rubal’skiy Vladislav (16-17 y.o.) – 1st place.

Dovgai David (16-17 y.o., below 65 kg) – 1st place.

Although not all the sportsmen from our team managed to gain prize-winning place, the overall skill level is high.
