Open European kyokushin karate (WKB) cup in kumite and kata among children, youth, juniors, men and women (European Cup WKB 2017) was held in Barcelona on April 8th, 2017.
Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate (IKO Matsushima) Federation was represented by a team from “Budokan” club (sports school for children and youth “Spartak”) from town Brovary. The team was guided by club’s president Andriy Gavrylyuk (3rd dan). The team consisted of Arseniy Nasikovskiy, Sergiy Grygorenko, Julia Sedelnikova, Danylo Dobrovolskiy, Pavlo Kapelka and Oleksiy Lyskov. All the fighters have good training level; they participated in many competitions and got prize-winning places there. Altogether, Ukraine was represented at the cup by about 40 fighters from different regions of the country.
Two fighters from Brovary returned home with prizes. Pavlo Kapelka (Ligthtweight 14-15 years Male) and Julia Sedelnikova (MiddleWeight 14-15 years Female) won silver medals.
