Open Ukrainian kyokushin karate (IFK) championship among children and youth was held in town Brovary (Kyiv region) on April, 22nd 2017. At the same time there was held All-Ukrainian tournament among children (8-9 y.o.). About 200 sportsmen from different regions of Ukraine participated in the competitions, representing different federations: IFK, WKO, KWF, KAN, IKO MATSUSHIMA, OYAMA KARATE and other.
Zakarpattya region was represented by team of youth kyokushin karate club “Yastrub” from town Mukachevo (trainer Matkovski sergiy, 1st dan). These sportsmen won three prizes in extremely difficult fights:
Gold medal: Kanchiy Ivan (14-15 y.o., below 55 kg).
Silver medal: Boklah Viktor (14-15 y.o., below 50 kg) and Rusin Yuriy (16-17 y.o., below 60 kg).
