Volyn hosted 12th Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate championship

12th Ukrainian kyokushinkaikan karate championship among youth and juniors was held in Lutsk. About 200 sportsmen from 9 regions of Ukraine and Belarus came to Volyn this year. The championship was organized by Ukrainian kyokushinkaikan karate federation and its Volyn branch, directed by the head of the federation Shihan Dmytro Volynets (5th dan, Lutsk).

To win the title “Champion of Ukraine” the sportsmen competed in 23 categories. The fights were performed at two tatamis, served by three teams of judges. Referees were sensei Dmytro Golovin (3rd dan, Dnipro), sensei Vadim Shumik (3rd dan, Lutsk), sensei Michael Chungin (3rd dan, Brody), sempai Viktor Balenko (2nd dan, Kyiv).
