Ukrainian Open Kyokushinkaikan karate cup among children and juniors was held in Brovary on November 4, 2016. More than 200 fighters from many regions of Ukraine came to Kyiv region this year. Sportsmen fought in 30 categories. Main organizer of the competition was Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan karate federation and its Kyiv regional organization in the person of sensei Gavrylyuk Andriy.
In the beginning Dmytro Volynets greeted the competitors with opening speech: “We returned from the 5th World championship in Japan several days ago. And we noticed there a very interesting fact: origin country of fighters didn’t matter; all of them were equals among equals. I hope, we will see the same attitude on this championship, so there will be no distinction among regions or organizations”.
In spite of severe competition and tough fights, there were no serious injuries. Everything was organized in concord and everyone remained calm.
Besides awarding of the winners, there were prizes for the best technique, for the will to win and for the most combative spirit.
Brovary won in team ranking. Irpen gained the 2nd position, and the 3rd place was for Vyshgorod.
