Volyn region Kyokushinkaikan Karate championship

November 23, 2015

Volyn region Kyokushinkaikan Karate championship was held in Lutsk on November 21st, 2015. Traditionally, the championship was hosted by Lutskschool-gymnasium N18. 148 sportsmen competed there. The youngest fighters were children from kindergarten, who were brave enough to step on the tatami for the first time in their lives.

“Some of you will step on the tatami for the first time, others will gain new experience. But it is very important, that all of you understand, that you fight not to get medals, but to become better. Everyone must win over himself in order to show all his best. You fight for getting new experience and to defeat fear. When the championship is over all of you will have only friends, but not enemies, because Kyokushin is one family” – stressed in his speech Main judge of the tournament Shihan Dmytro Volynets (5th dan).

Although there were many beginners, all of the fighters were well-trained and showed combative spirit and strong will for victory. As the final neared, it became more and more difficult for the judges to choose a winner, as all fighters were eager to get on the winners’ podium. In total, there were 25 sets of medals. They also have chosen a fighter with the best techniques – this title was awarded to Kichka Anastasia from Kovel. And Shalayko Michael had shown the strongest will for victory, and it was also awarded with a commemorative prize.

We wish all sportsmen to continue their growth and conquer new heights, and to show their best at the Ukrainian Karate Cup!
