Mykolayiv region open kyokushinkaikan karate cup in kumite among men and women, veterans, juniors and youth was held on October 18th, 2015.
The tournament gathered fighters from different kyokushinkaikan karate federations. There were presented teams of Shinkyokushin (Midori), IKO1 (Matsui), Kyokushin-kan (Royama), IKO3 (Matsushima) and Rengokai. Total number of the fighters exceeded 400 men.
Dnipropetrovsk regional branch of All-Ukrainian organization “Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation” was represented by 4 fighters: Golovin Nazar and Galysh Maksim (age category 8-9 y.o.), Dolynniy Oleksandr (age category 12-13 y.o.) and Golovin Dmytro (veterans).
Unfortunately, Galysh Maksim didn’t get ready for the first fight in a proper way, and he lost with ippon mark.
Golovin Nazar fought with a bigger opponent equally, but after additional time victory was conferred to his opponent.
Dolynniy Oleksandr got 2nd place in the weight category below 60 kg. His final fight had two additional rounds, and even then decision of the judges was divided, but the victory was awarded to the Oleksandr’s opponent.
Golovin Dmytro won 2nd place in the veterans category. Having only 82 kg, Dmytro competed in the absolute weight category. He won 1st fight with wazari mark (his opponent weighted 110 kg). The 2ndfight had additional time, and after that all the judges conferred victory to Dmytro. Only in the final fight a fighter from Kherson(92-kg) turned to be better than Dmytro.
In our opinion, organization of the competition was on mid-level, especially in matters of judging and fights organization, but the reason of this is such a great number of the participants.
