7th European Training Camp was held near Spanish town Alicante under the leadership of European IKO Matsushima kyokushinkaikan karate organization President Shihan Klaus Rex and Spanish Branch Chief Gabriel Barluenga. The camp started on July 29th and ended on August 2nd. More than 100 fighters from 14 countries took part in the training camp. Among them there were other Shihans, including Roman Szyrajew(7th dan).
Ukrainian kyokushinkaikan karate federation was represented by Shihan Dmytro Volynets (5thdan) and Sempai Vasyl Shevchuk (2nd dan).
Everyday training started with morning running to the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, where participants of the camp performed kata and trained in pairs to work on their techniques. Some of the trainings were performed in the water.
One of the most interesting trainings was performed by Shihan Gabriel Barluenga. It included techniques of attack and defense with police sticks. Sportsmen got a lot of inspiration from smiling and energetic Roman Szyrajew was who has become Shihan as early as in Sosai Oyama’s time.
Between trainings everybody had a possibility to restore his strength in the sea or in the swimming pool. To mark camp’s end there was organized warm sayonara party, during which all the participants received thanks and Spanish souvenirs.
