Ukrainian Open cup among juveniles and juniors was held in Brovary on November 30th2014. The competition was organized by Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation. There were 170 fighters from 13 regions of Ukraine, competing in 23 different categories.
The opening ceremony of the competition was marked by a very pleasant moment for 4 karate fighters. Shihan Dmytro Volynets presented black belts to Zvonyk Dan (2nddan, Donetsk), Mavrodiy Arthur (2nddan, Donetsk), Golovin Dmytro (3rd dan, Dnipropetrovsk) and Gavrylyuk Andriy (3rddan, Brovary).
Organizers of the competition appreciated bravery of all the participants. Sensei Andriy Gavrylyuk (3rd dan) said in his speech to guests and participants of the competition: “We are very glad, that so many fighters managed to take part in this open cup in spite of the difficult situation in our country”.
The competition was organized very well and everything went off without a hitch. There were no serious injuries although each fighter has shown strong will to win.
At the end of the competition all the winners were presented honorary diplomas, medals and cups. Judges also presented special prizes – patriotic bags – to those sportsmen who have made special impression on the referees. Dmytro Volynets summed up the results of the tournament: “I appreciate very much all fighters who have come here. Everyone has shown good physical condition and great skills. Every fight was fair and full of combative spirit, and all the sportsmen and their trainers can be deservedly proud of themselves”.
