International summer training camp

August 19, 2014

Team of Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation participated in the OKKH (Oyama Kiokushin karate Hungary) summer training camp conducted by shihan József Borza (6th dan). The camp was organized at the sport facilities cite of police academy in town Miskolc from August 11th-16th. József Borza expressed gratitude to head of the board of Ukrainian Federation shihan Dmytro Volynets who managed to bring our team to the training camp in spite of all the difficulties in Ukraine.

There were 5 training days, and each day included three training times. First training consisted of morning run and physical exercises, second one – kihon and kata, and third one – pair-trainings and kumite (fighting). All the participants of the camp were divided into groups in order to increase trainings efficiency. Fighters from Hungarian national team had a separate program as a part of their trainings before international tournaments. Several members of our team were invited to participate in these trainings, and they noticed marked difference in the training program comparing to the rest of the camp. National team training was conducted by shihan Zoltan Orehovszki (5th dan, Hungary). He set a stress on general and special physical training. There were many exercises to increase strength and velocity, coordination, response time, stamina and fighting combinations. And they also used special equipment for each training.

Ku- and dan-tests were performed on the last day of the camp. After that the farewell party was organized. They summarized achievements of the trainings and proclaimed the best sportsman of the camp. Of course, there was entertainment program and fighters represented their training groups in a funny manner. Our team showed its best, just so as they had showed themselves worth during the trainings.

We express our gratitude to the organizers and trainers of the camp and appreciate their hard work very much!
