Final of Ukrainian Open Cup and International Tournament in memory of Vitaliy Kushniryk

November 30, 2013

Final of Ukrainian Open Cup and International Tournament in memory of Vitaliy Kushniryk were held in Ternopil on 23-24 November 2013. The competition was organized by Ternopil regional federation “Kyokushin-kan Karate-Do Renmei”. Ukrainian Kyuokushinkaikan Karate Federation was represented by 4 sportsmen. Olga Leshchuk won 1st place in the category “women 18-35 y.o., weight below 65 kg”.

The competition has made mixed impressions. Although there were two tatami for kumite, the competition continued two days, and some of the 200 sportsmen felt tiredness because of that. Also, there was no numbering of fights, and it confused the sportsmen, too. The fights didn’t start in time neither on the first, not on the second day of the competition. But there were also some positive aspects. Each team had brought its own judge, so there were several referee teams, which could substitute each other. Another positive moment is high level of all fighters, that’s why each fight was very interesting and results were unexpected.

Our congratulations to all champions and winners! We wish them further victories!
